Soda Jerk (The Odd Can Out)
Three sodas and a can paint
Sittin’ on the back porch talkin’ bout the weather
“Too hot here, I’m gonna faint
Let’s find a tree and a little bit of shelter”
Soda pops says “stop right there
You know this place is as good as any other”
You may be runny, but you can’t hide
And if you leave now you can never be our brother”
When you’re the odd can out
You don’t got it made in the shade
When you’re the odd can out
The heat is gonna get you and make you fade
So da paint can tried to make his own way
Said it once and I’ll say it again, it’s better
Found some shade underneath a big palm tree
Discovered a brush, he swore he’d already met her
Now for those sodas, well he couldn’t care less
But he thought he’d still right them all a letter
“Thanks a bunch guys, you thickened me up
Now I’m a chooser and no longer a beggar

I’m Going to Rock and Roll
I never meant for you to see me under this light
I didn’t want to hurt your mental satellite
But honey I’m going to make it right
‘Cause I’m going to rock and roll all night
You know that if I could be any other way
You know that I’d be that boy on any other day
But since I can’t, I’ll simply say
That I’m going to rock and roll all day
I’m going to rock and roll
Yeah, I’m going to rock and roll
I’m going to rock and roll
I’m going to rock, rock, rock
And roll
If only I knew
What would you do
If I wasn’t around
Where would you head to
Where could you be found
Would life still go on now
Just like it did before
And I want you to know now
After I walk out this door
I won’t be coming back
For a very long while
And I know for a fact that
You’ll be out on the tiles
If only I knew
What to do with myself
If only you too
Could pick my heart up from the shelf
Would all this be over
If I hadn’t been
Would I feel more sober
Would I feel more clean
When will I go down
Just to see this creation
When will I drown
In a pool of trepidation
I won’t be coming back
For a very long while
And I know for a fact that
You’ll be out on the tiles
The End of the Line
Took a little walk
Then sat in the park to rest
Yes, I took a little walk
Then sat in the park to rest
I picked up a rock
And held it against my chest
I woke up the next morning
Still laying on the fresh cut grass
Yes, I woke up the next morning
Still laying on the fresh cut grass
Well you didn’t heed my warning
And now you’re growing up too fast
Took the bus to Kansas
Got there an hour too late
Yes, I took the bus to Kansas
And got there an hour too late
You said we’d see where it lands us
But we couldn’t get past the gate
In the end it wasn’t worth it
It was all just a waste of my time
No, in the end it wasn’t worth it
Was all just a waste of my time
So I told you to drop it
This is the end of the line
Tough Love World
I found you knockin’ at my bedroom door
You said you wanted to tell you some more
But in the end what was it all for
The winds have changed and you don’t love me no more
Cause it’s a tough love world
Yes it’s a tough love world
I heard you loved another man
I heard you loved him like none other can
So I packed my bags and with the wave of a hand
It hit the road like the waves hit the sand
It took me days just to walk across town
That’s how it goes when my spirits are down
Tears in my eyes tell you that no one’s around
I set them free without making a sound
